The purpose was to investigate the specialized agricultural training required by the members of rural production cooperatives and agricultural companies and to analyze the barriers to effectiveness. The statistical population of members of rural production cooperatives and agricultural companies that participated in specialized agricultural courses in 1399, including 250 people, of which 129 people were studied. Data collection tool is a questionnaire based on Kirkpatrick model. The results showed that in 5 specialized courses, the main motivation of members to participate in training courses was to meet job needs. Comparing the average attitude of members towards the course showed a significant difference.The results of members 'reactive characteristics showed that 80% of members' reaction (feeling) to holding training courses was at a medium and higher level, the average knowledge and awareness of members before and after participating in the courses showed that more than 75, respectively. 77% of members rated their knowledge and awareness as average and higher. The results of members' behavioral characteristics showed 82% of members rated their behavioral status as average and higher. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that the trainings were effective in improving the knowledge of the members. The results of diagnostic factor analysis showed that the barriers to the effectiveness of the courses were summarized in 5 factors (inappropriate content of the courses, low participation of members in the courses, insufficient management process on the courses, cultural problems, and lack of up-to-date instructors) included 58% of the total variance of barriers to effectiveness.

Analysis of practical agricultural competencies based on training needs assessment plays a vital role in improving educational quality in agricultural vocational schools, which are responsible for training competent human resources in agricultural sector. This research project aimed to investigate factors affecting the effectiveness of practical courses in agricultural vocational schools in Fars province. The statistical population consisted of 258 junior students of Fars agricultural vocational schools during 2013-2014. Based on Cochran’s sample size formula, 154 junior students were selected through simple random sampling method. The data was collected using structured questionnaires which were validated by a group of experts and the reliability as measured by ordinal alpha was (0.91), Results revealed that, general, professional and technical domains played a vital role in training practical courses in the agricultural vocational schools. It was also concluded that general domain of training skills in vocational schools posses deals with effectiveness of practical agricultural vocational courses. Analysing the educational needs of students the Revealed the gap between the present status and the state quo of the main determinants of effectiveness in agricultural vocational schools. According to the results of ordinal regression, variables such as age, grade point average (GPA) and residence location affect the quality of teaching in schools of agriculture.

Adequate knowledge about the information needs and seeking behavior of users is vital for developing library collections, services and facilities to meet their information needs effectively. So, the purpose of this descriptive study was to investigate information-seeking behavior of educators in education-research activities. The research instrument was structural questionnaire with close-ended questions, which its validity and reliability was confirmed. The target population of this study consisted of educators (including teachers, instructors and faculty members) of agricultural-jihad educational center of Fars province (N=180) out of which, a number of 101 people were selected as statistical sample in a stratified sampling method by using Israel’s table (n=101). The result of research indicated that improving skills of teaching was the main educators' motivation of searching information. In addition, Persian books and internet were the main information sources using in teaching and research activities by educators, respectively. On the other hand, these results showed that the more than four fifth of respondents was using Google explorer engine to utilize web-based Persian journals. Furthermore reliable sources were the main criteria for using information sources. Low speed in being connected to internet, being scattered of libraries, and lack of accessing to full text of papers in journals were three top barriers in searching information stated by educators. Inferential results show there were statistical differences between the educators' use amount of information sources on the research activities regarding their education level and employment status.
